Recently, me and my boyfriend stayed in the Shangri-la hotel, located on the 34th-52nd floors of the shard. This is somewhere I'd never in a million years had ever dreamed of staying but I feel to lucky to have!

Having never stepped foot in the tallest building in Europe I didn't really what to expect, but we were greeted in reception with the most beautiful view! We quickly got checked into our room, and I was just as stunned at the view! I have to admit the decor of the room isn't as sleek and modern as others but it is oriental, which is expected when it's a chain of Asian 5* hotels but it makes it unique, especially in the centre of London.

One of my favourite aspects of the room was the binoculars, which were perfect for people watching and seeing what was going on down on the ground!

The bathroom had to be my favourite part of the room, from the heated floors to the TV in the mirror and the walk in bath and shower. To be honest, I really am not a fan of baths but I took full advantage of the huge bath after dinner! I absolutely loved the huge walk in shower and being able to look over London whilst in the shower, because let's be honest, if you can't shower naked in front of London whilst you're in the shard, when else can you?!?

That evening we dined in the TĪNG lounge, derived from the Chinese word for ‘living room’, it had a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for our relaxing weekend! Despite it being a mainly Chinese cuisine, we both opted for steak (typical) but it was defiantly up there with one of the best (and most expensive) steaks I've ate! We then spent the night looking at the lights of London - still in awe of the amazing view, defiantly a view I could never get bored of!

The next morning we ordered room service where a lovely member of staff set up a table in the window before bringing our fresh food to our room so we could admire the views for one last time before we left!

One thing I do regret not doing during our stay was taking advantage of the swimming pool because I can only imagine how bizarre it must feel to be swimming so high in the air - we will defiantly be staying here again and I will defiantly be taking a trip!

Overall, although it is a very pricey night away, I definitely would recommend staying in the Shangri-La at the shard, especially with a loved one because it's one of my favourite memories of 2018, and most defiantly a night I will remember forever!
