liberty's - the most unique department store?

I decided to research into what really made Liberty's so unique compared to other dept stores. Once I started researching I actually found out a lot!

Liberty first started by Mr and Mrs Liberty in 1875, they travelled the world collecting unique items such as rugs from India to fabrics from china and art from Africa.

From this they made this bazaar-like store full of so many beautiful items! Over the years they have grown tremendously and are now the department store fro the luxury artistic shopper who wants these incredible and unique items.

Still to this day, buyers from Liberty would travel the world to source and bring back the most beautiful items to fell. The buyers spend a lot of time in that country getting to know and understand the producers background and family - and ultimately form relationships with these people!

Despite visiting Liberty's a number of times whilst in London, I really had no clue of its history!! I visited Liberty's since my research and just knowing the history I felt like I really understood the shop more and truly appreciated my shopping experience there a lot more!
