After a recent trip to London I couldn't help but notice the difference between the retail experience in two popular Tiffany stores! After visiting both the Covent Garden store and Old Bond Street store in the same afternoon it was very clear the different markets both stores were aimed at.

I first visited the Covent Garden store, located in a really busy tourist area of London with a fun atmosphere of loud street performers and people cheering them on. The store showed a really modern perception of the brand. The new Tiffany 'make it' branding was bright and fun with bold statement logos on the walls to attract the younger generation and draw tourists in. They also swapped the classic jewellery counters for a more contemporary style. Also it had fun interactive things such as the perfume vending machine and stickers on the mirrors with hashtags specific to Tiffany on them. Also huge screens with videos playing aswell as having their own resident dj. These small twists on the classic jewellery store are really exciting and will defiantly appeal to the younger generations who are likely to take a picture of these and post on their social medias (Guilty!)

The covent garden store didn't stock some of the more classic styles so we headed over to the Old Bond St store, located amongst the likes of Cartier, Chloé and Louis Vuitton, Old Bond St is the number one luxury shopping street in the capital! Just from the outsides the store gave off a much more luxurious feel. Inside was quiet and everywhere was sparkling! The staff where in suits and had a more traditional feel to them (compared to the more casual look the staff wore in covent garden). This was definitely the version of Tiffany I think of, a very traditional luxury jewellers!

It really fascinated me to see two very different versions of the brand appealing to two very different types of people. As much as I love the rebrand, I think graphics wise its very modern and capturing but logistically I feel like it can make the brand lose a bit of its value and look a bit cheap by wanting to target a different demographic. As fun as the covent garden street store was, for me Tiffany is all about diamonds and a luxury, special shopping experience that the Old Bond St store gives me!
